A working capacity coordinator is a specialist educated as a social worker who participates in the provision of occupational rehabilitation services and, being a member of the occupational health care team, helps the employer in finding workplace-related opportunities for employees with reduced working capacity. Working capacity coordinator also assists the employer in applying for benefits that are related to occupational rehabilitation.
Working capacity coordinator can also participate in occupational health negotiations in order to help the employeee return to work and the employer to apply for benefits that are intended for adapting the work environment. The working capacity coordinator is also the contact perfon if an employee has financial difficulties. Sometimes employee’s inability to work is not related to his or her health, but is due to other reasons. For example, death or illness of a loved one, marital crisis or emerging economic difficulties can all reduce employee’s ability to work. However, these problems do not give grounds for issuing a sick leave because there is no health disorder involved. Our working capacity coordinator can help to resolve such situations and find a suitable compromise between the employer and the employee.
